Bearcats Spotlight

The Cincinnati Bearcats continued their quest for playoffs by pulling off their 9th straight victory this season, in what was kind of a nail-biter against the Tulsa Golden Hurricane. Now in a short week, they must play in their third road game in their last four games, all the way down in Tampa Bay. At least they’ve fared well on shorter rest, going 3-0 ATS in their last three games on six days worth of rest. The Bearcats have owned this series, winning 10 of their last 15 meetings, but haven’t been profitable lately, going 0-6 ATS against them.

Bulls Spotlight

The South Florida Bulls continued their dreadful season, dropping their second straight game, this time to the Houston Cougars, however they managed to cover the spread in the loss. They have actually covered in three of their last four games. Conference play though, has been anything but a cake-walk for the Bulls where they’ve gone just 1-15 SU in their last 16 games versus an AAC opponent.

Final Say

South Florida shouldn’t have a chance in this one. It’s on a short week and they sport one of the worst defenses in the country, especially at home where they rank 121st in points allowed, 125th in passing yards allowed, 125th in rushing yards allowed, and 128th in yards per play. Cincinnati’s defense on the other hand has been one of the best in the country, ranking 3rd in points allowed, 3rd in passing yards allowed, 74th in rushing yards allowed, and 4th in yards per play. It’s just hard to foresee that the Bulls offense will be able to keep up with the Bearcat’s offense considering their polar-opposite defenses. No one likes laying 23.5-points on the road favorite, but this one should be a blowout as the Bearcats need all the style points they can get, while the Bulls really have nothing to play for.

Pick: Cincinnati Bearcats -23.5
