Warriors Spotlight

The Golden State Warriors are coming off a 4th quarter victory last night over the Cleveland Cavaliers, while covering the nearly 10-point spread in the process. They travel to Detroit on zero days rest to face a team they’ve gone 2-5 ATS against in their last seven meetings. On the road, the Warrior’s offense ranks 2nd in points per game, 5th in field goal percentage, and 17th in 3-point shooting. Defensively on the road, the Warriors have been stellar ranking 2nd in points allowed, 11th in field goal percentage, 12th in 3-point shooting, and 4th in rebounding.

Pistons Spotlight

The Detroit Pistons seem to have found themselves in a groove, winning three of their last five games, while also going 3-2 ATS in the process. The Piston’s offense at home has been one of the worst, ranking 29th in points per game, 30th in field goal percentage, and 30th in 3-point shooting. On the defensive side at home, the Pistons rank 13th in points allowed, 26th in field goal percentage, 29th in 3-point shooting, and 21st in rebounding.

Final Say

The Warriors are only 2-5 ATS in their last seven versus the Pistons, but have been in great form lately going 5-1 ATS in their last six games, and have been profitable as favorites, going 7-1-1 ATS in their last nine as favorites. They’ve also dominated the Eastern Conference going 5-1 ATS in their last six vs Eastern opponent, and 8-0 ATS in their last eight versus a Central Division opponent. The Pistons on the other hand are 2-5 ATS in their last seven versus a Western Conference opponent. The Warriors toyed with the Cavaliers last night, but decided to play in the fourth quarter. I’m expecting them to show a little more respect from start-to-finish in this one because they probably won’t have Steph Curry playing. The Warriors are still the better team and should handle this lineup that isn’t any better than what the Cavaliers put out last night.

Pick: Golden State Warriors -7.5
