Heat Spotlight

The Miami Heat just took their 6th loss of the season in a rematch versus the Washington Wizards, while they failed failed to cover the spread that snapped their 5-game ATS streak. Offensively on the road the Heat have been solid, ranking 10th in points per game, 13th in field goal percentage, and 8th in 3-point shooting. Defensively on the road they’ve been just as good, ranking 10th in points allowed, 6th in field goal percentage, 9th in 3-point shooting, and 5th in rebounding.

Pistons Spotlight

The Detroit Pistons dropped their second straight game, this time to the Los Angeles Laker, but they did manage to cover the 7-point spread at home. The Piston’s offense has been putrid at home, ranking 27th in points per game, and 30th in field goal percentage and 3-point shooting. Defensively at home, the Pistons rank 19th in points allowed, 28th in field goal percentage, 30th in 3-point shooting, and 23rd in rebounding.

Final Say

This is going to be Miami’s 7th road game in their last nine games overall, and they have a game in Minnesota tomorrow night, so the schedule isn’t going to be on their side. Expecting the Heat to go through the motions in this one as there hasn’t been too much for them to get excited about lately facing some mediocre competition, and facing some more mediocre competition in their next two games. Yes, the Heat have been in good form lately going 5-1 ATS in their last six, but Detroit has found themselves playing some competitive basketball lately, going 5-3 ATS in their last eight games. I’m not expecting the Heat to be fully focused here, while the Pistons are playing better basketball at the moment, so of course I’ll grab the double-digit points for the home team.

Pick: Detroit Pistons +10
