Big battle in the Big Ten early on Saturday as the Michigan Wolverines come calling on the Michigan State Spartans in East Lansing. Both teams come in at 7-0, both sides playing solid football, and both teams making winning plays. Winner here looks like a shoe in for the East slot in Big Ten title game.

Key for me in this game is for certain the Spartans defense. They have been so good against the run, and will need it here as the Wolverines run more than 65% of their plays on the ground. Spartans slow that run game, force McNamara to make plays through the air, and I feel the Spartans may have something.

The Spartans have weapons in receivers... how will the Wolverines play them. The Spartans need to run that rock just enough to keep the Wolverines attention, and when the opportunity on the outside presents itself, they need to make them count.

Final Say

Expect some feeling out here with the defenses getting going early on. Like this game being at Spartan Stadium... it is an advantage this season and it will be a huge test for the Wolverines. The Spartans got the best of the Wolverines last season, and I feel focusing on the Wolverine run game defensively can get the home winners again.  Play for me here is to take the Spartans and the points as a home dog.
