Defensively, the Wild are 25th in goals against, allowing 3.27 goals per game. One problem with the defense is the penalty kill which ranks 23rd, letting opponents score nearly 25% of the time. 

Coyotes Spotlight

Arizona got their first victory of the season Saturday, defeating the new expansion team, the Seattle Kraken 5-4.  The Coyotes are dead last, or near the bottom in every important category. Offensively, they average 1.58 goals per game, which is worst in the league.  On the power play, the Coyotes score 10.7% of the time, ranking near the bottom at 28th.  Defensively, the Coyotes are giving up 4.0 goals per game, which is most in the league, and are 30th in the league in penalty killing, giving up a goal almost 35% of the time.

Final Say

The division leading Wild have won three straight and are a bad matchup for the Coyotes. The Wild lead the league in shots per game, and are 7th in goals per game, and will dominate the Coyote’s league-worst defense.  The Wild should also get some power play goals against a weak Coyote penalty kill.  The Coyotes have been outscored 48-19 through 12 games and the puck line has cashed in nine of Arizona’s 12 games this season.  Historically, the Wild won seven of the last eight meetings and have covered the puck line in all seven of those wins.  Wild win 4-1.
