Aggies Spotlight

Another solid SEC matchup here in Oxford, Mississippi on Saturday as the Texas A&M Aggies come in riding high off a massive home win over the Auburn Tigers last week.  Recall, we cashed in nicely with A&M as the BEST BET of the week.  

Last week, we banked on Texas A&M winning with defense and that is what happened.  They held Auburn to less than 250 yards and only 3-points… a key Bo Nix fumble was scooped for a touchdown, ultimately proving far more than Auburn could recover from.

However, even in the win, Aggies offense showed some chinks. Quarterback play was not sharp from the pocket, third downs were a massive grind, and the passing game overall is not awe inspiring.     

Rebels Spotlight

The Ole Miss Rebels have the offense to do the job here at home. Passing attack is among the best in the nation, and at times can be dynamic with big plays.  The trouble for them here likely will be trying to use the running game to open passing lanes... A&M's defense is geared more to stop the rushing attack (likely why it was so effective against Auburn), but a solid passing game can give them pause.

Final Say

SEC has been a solid league to make predictions this season... outside the tip top of the league, all of these guys are beating each other, and predominately doing it defending their home turf.  Auburn beat Ole Miss at home, Texas A&M beat Auburn at home, and I would anticipate that Ole Miss will be geared and primed to pull an upset over the flavor of the month A&M on Saturday. Ole Miss is the play for me here.
