Hawks Spotlight

The Atlanta Hawks just dropped their fourth straight game to the Golden State Warriors last night, now have to head to Salt Lake City on zero days rest. The Hawks just haven’t been profitable lately, going 0-4 ATS in their last four games, 1-7 ATS in their last eight games, and are 0-9 ATS in their last nine games on the road. Maybe November has just been bad luck for the Hawks as they’ve gone just 1-14 SU in their last 15 games. It hasn’t been all their fault as the NBA schedulers really did them dirty to start the season as this will be their 8th road game in their first 12 games.

Jazz Spotlight

The Utah Jazz just dropped their second straight game, this time to the lowly Orland Magic, even though they were 11-point favorites. The Jazz themselves have been traveling a lot too, where they’ve had road games in six of their last seven games, but now get to start a five-game home-stand. They’ll bring in a defense that ranks 7th in points allowed, 8th in field goal percentage, and 2nd in 3-point shooting. This series has been dominated by the Jazz, winning 7 of their last 10 meetings with the Hawks, while winning by an average of 11 points per game.

Final Say

This just seems like too easy of a pick considering the Hawk’s current woes and Utah being a very tough place to play at. However, the Jazz are just 2-4 ATS in their last six games, and after a rough travel schedule, could come into this one a little lax. This public is also all over the Jazz, but the Hawks should be prepped for a good team after facing the likes of the Nets, Suns, Warriors, and this very same squad tonight. Although I expect the Jazz to win, the Hawks  familiarity with them should help them keep this game close.
