East meets West as the 7-2-3 Calgary Flames hit the road to take on the 3-10-1 Montreal Canadiens.

Flames Spotlight

After losing 4-1 to the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday night, the Calgary should get back to their winning ways against the troubled Canadiens squad.  The Flame’s offense is led by Matthew Tkachuk and are averaging 3.42 goals per game, ranking 7th in the league.  On the power play, they are scoring almost 25% of the time.  Defensively, the Flames have shined allowing a minuscule 2.17 goals per game, which ranks 2nd in the NHL.  Between the pipes, Markstrom has been a wall with a 1.69 goals allowed and a .940 save percentage.

Canadians Spotlight

Montreal is coming off of a 3-2 overtime loss to the Los Angeles Kings, and have concerns on both ends of the ice.  The Canadiens are second to last in the league in scoring, averaging only 2.0 goals a game. Their power play isn't much better, ranking near the bottom, only scoring 12.8% of the time.  On defense, the Canadiens are letting in 3.43 goals per game and only killing penalties 68.6% of the time, which both rank near the bottom of the League.  

Final Say:

Calgary plays well on the road winning their last five games away from home.  The Canadiens do not play well at home and are 1-10 against the Western Conference, and 0-4 against the Pacific division. The Canadiens have lost three in a row and five of their last six, and don’t have the goaltending or offense to keep up with the Flames.
