49ers Spotlight

For the Charlotte 49ers, this has been a decent season as they continue to find their path in the FBS. They sit at 5-4 overall, 3-2 in the league, and generally have been a team that has come off the bottom run of the ladder. Home win last week over Rice, 31-24, was right on that Vegas number at -6.5 for a Charlotte cover.

Bulldogs Spotlight

A slumping team, losers of five straight games, a team that struggles to cover at home, and a team in desperate need of any win, gets another try this Saturday... that team would be the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs.

I think the recent misery of Louisiana Tech will prove to be what prices us into a nice position for the cover.  This team has not been good at making home numbers... but in those cases, you are looking at better teams and at times even higher spreads.  They were crushed in the last home game they played on October 23rd but it is worth noting that was to the best team in the league, UTSA, which still remains undefeated.

Final Say

Simply looking at records here I feel would present a bad impression. Charlotte is not as good as their record appears, and Louisiana Tech is not as bad as their record presents. Charlotte has not been able to do squat away from home, and that ultimately is what makes this play.  An underperforming home side needing any kind of win with a reasonable spread, against a team with no success on the road.  Louisiana Tech snaps the losing streak in front of home fans...
