Bengals Spotlight

The Cincinnati Bengals were able to play spoiler last week against the Tennessee Titans, despite giving up nine sacks, their three forced turnovers proved to be more critical in taking out the top seed. On the road, the Bengal’s offense ranks 12th in points per game, 17th in pass yards, 23rd in rush yards, and 17th in yards per play. Defensively on the road, the Bengals rank 1st in points allowed, 10th in pass yards allowed, 13th in rush yards allowed, and 5th in yards per play.

Chiefs Spotlight

The Kansas City Chiefs are coming off the best game I’ve seen in a while, outlasting the Buffalo Bills in an OT thriller, while also covering the 2.5-point spread in the process. At home, the Chief’s offense ranks 9th in points per game, 7th in pass yards, 13th in rush yards, and 9th in yards per play. Defensively at home, the Chiefs rank 6th in points allowed, 20th in pass yards allowed, 9th in rush yards allowed, and 20th in yards per play.

Final Say

The over has been trending for both squads where it has hit in seven-straight for Kansas City, while it is 5-0 in Cincinnati’s last five games after giving up 350+ total yards in their previous game. It is also 5-0 in the Chiefs last five games following an ATS win. We saw fireworks in their last meeting as Cincinnati won in a thriller, while they also went over the 60 point threshold for the total as they put up 64 combined points. The total was set at 51 points last time, but this time around it’s been bumped up to 54.5 total points. Even so, that still doesn’t seem high for a team that has put up 30+ points in six of their last seven games (Chiefs), while they’ve been giving up an average of 25.5 points per game in their last six games. This one feels like the Bengals are going to have to play catch-up all game, which they should be able to put up points in that situation considering the Chief’s pass defense isn’t good and they give up hefty chunk plays. I’ll back the over in what should be another strong offensive performance from each side.
