The Mississippi State Bulldogs are coming into Arkansas off a huge home upset of the Kentucky Wildcats, 31-17... the week before they bounced back with big road win at hapless Vanderbilt, 45-6 in response to 49-9 loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide.
The Arkansas Razorbacks will need to use balance, and they have at least 200 yards rushing and passing each of the last three games, in order to control the game flow and keep the Bulldogs off balance. Expect Mississippi State to have big numbers through the air as that is what they do, but if Arkansas is limiting possessions a bit, that could put the pressure on the visitors.
Final Say
Backing a very capable home side that is extremely hungry to get a win. Last time at home was a numbing toe stub as a quarterback sack, fumble, and touchdown was crippling in a loss to Auburn. Prior to that, they suffered back-to-back road losses (52-51 at Ole Miss, 37-0 at Georgia). Their only other SEC home game was a stout 20-10 win over Texas A&M.
Key to this game is Arkansas taking care of the ball… they were good to start the season, but of late, have had key turnovers that all have seemed to hurt. They got home field here and a team hopefully still riding the wave off of an upset win. Ranked team on the road to an unranked team is glaring, and Arkansas will show why the linemakers are giving them respect.
