The San Antonio Spurs continued their slumping ways, taking a loss to to the Los Angeles Lakers at the Staple Center as 2.5-point underdogs. Their offense has been pretty dreadful on the road where they rank 26th in points per game, 11th in field goal percentage, and 15th in 3-point shooting. Defensively on the road they rank 8th in points allowed, 21st in field goal percentage, 17th in 3-point shooting, and 20th in rebounding. 

Clippers Spotlight

The Los Angeles Clippers just had a seven-game winning streak snapped against the Chicago Bulls as 3.5-point favorites. At home the Clippers offense hasn’t been tearing it up where they rank 17th in points per game, 20th in field goal percentage, and 16th in 3-point shooting. Defensively at home the Clippers have been a force, ranking 7th in points allowed, 5th in field goal shooting, 3rd in 3-point shooting, and 19th in rebounding. 

Final Say

San Antonio is just 4-14 SU in their last 18 games, while they are just 2-9 SU in their last 11 games on the road. The Spurs have played the Clippers tough in Los Angeles though, going 4-1 ATS in their last five games there. It’s a shame for the Spurs though as they’ll be facing a hot Clippers squad that has gone 7-1 SU in their last eight games, while going 5-2 ATS in their last seven games. The Spurs just haven’t been the same team with out Jakob Poeltl going just 2-4 SU without him, while in those four losses, they’ve lost by an average of 7-points per game. The spread is set at 6.5, so it seems like the value is on the Spurs despite their recent performance. The Spurs should be competitive to snap a two-game skid, while the Clippers have bigger fish to fry in Memphis after this game. I’ll snag the points in this one.
