The Washington Wizards continue their dreadful road trip into Phoenix after dropping another game, this time to the Sacramento Kings as 2-point favorites. Offensively on the road, the Wizards rank 26th in points per game, 9th in field goal percentage, and 28th in 3-point shooting. Defensively on the road, the Wizards rank 13th in points allowed, 10th in field goal percentage, 13th in 3-point shooting, and 19th in rebounding. 

Suns Spotlight

The Phoenix Suns are coming off a nice OT victory in Portland, while covering the spread as 1-point favorites. Offensively at home, the Suns rank 16th in points per game, 14th in field goal percentage, and 26th in 3-point shooting. Defensively at home, the Suns rank 26th in points allowed, 23rd in field goal percentage, 26th in 3-point shooting, and 13th in rebounding. 

Final Say

The Wizards are 0-6-1 ATS in their last seven games and just imploded in the fourth quarter versus the Kings. Something has to give for this team, maybe they can use that as motivation to play hard versus the Suns, who’ve they’ve gone 9-3 SU against in their last 12 meetings. The Suns continue to win basketball, but they are just 2-4 ATS in their last six games, and are coming off a hard-fought overtime victory in Portland, and may not be fully focused against this slumping Wizards team. The public will probably be all over the Suns with the way the Wizards have been faltering lately, so Vegas probably has padded the spread some in hopes of the Wizards covering, which is why I like the points tonight in this one. In the words of Neil Young, “Tonight’s the night” for the Wizards.
