Ducks Spotlight

The Oregon Ducks just took down their interstate rivals Oregon State Beavers as 7.5-point favorites, which was a solid bounce back after being handled by this same team. The Duck’s offense ranks 47th in points per game, 88th in pass yards, 19th in rush yards, and 32nd in yards per play. Defensively, the Ducks rank 41st in points allowed, 74th in pass yards allowed, 25th in rush yards allowed, and 37th in yards per play.

Utes Spotlight

The Utah Utes just pulled off their 5th straight victory, which came against the Colorado Buffaloes, but they failed to cover the 24-point spread in the process. Offensively, the Utes rank 33rd in points per game, 93rd in pass yards, 13th in rush yards, and 29th in yards per play. On the defensive side, the Utes have been solid, ranking 21st in points allowed, 13th in pass yards allowed, 28th in rush yards allowed, and 16th in yards per play.

Final Say

Utah got the better of Oregon on their home turf, which is a hard place to play as is, but on neutral turf, things will be a little more even.  Also, Oregon won’t be dealing with quarterback issues. The Ducks are 8-4 SU in their last 12 against the Utes, while they have been a profitable team to back, going 4-2 ATS in their last six games. And the Ducks for the most part have played competitively, going 4-1 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record. As far as the turnover battle, the Ducks own a +2 turnover differential in their last three games compared to the Utes -1 differential. Utah is 0-4 ATS in their last four games on a neutral field, and I like that to continue as the Ducks get revenge after being embarrassed a couple weeks ago.
