Steelers Spotlight

The Pittsburgh Steelers are coming off a solid home victory against the Baltimore Ravens, while covering the spread as 4-point underdogs. Offensively on the road, the Steelers rank 25th in points per game, 18th in pass yards, 32nd in rushing yards, and 28th in yards per play. On the defensive side it hasn’t been too much better as they rank 20th in points allowed, 20th in pass yards allowed, 28th in rush yards allowed, and 24th in yards per play.

Vikings Spotlight

The Minnesota Vikings were just shocked by the Detroit Lions as 7-point favorites, dropping their second-straight game. Offensively at home they rank 25th in points per game, 10th in pass yards, 19th in rush yards, and 15th in yards per play. On the defensive side, the Vikings rank 6th in points allowed, 25th in pass yards allowed, 15th in rush yards allowed, and 28th in yards per play. 

Final Say

The focus will be on the total here. The over is 7-1 in the Vikings last eight games following an ATS loss, while it has hit in four of their last five games. As for the Steelers, the over is 4-1 in their last five games playing on field turf, which really peaks my interest on the over after seeing that. They play a different slower style on the real grass at Heinz, but they move faster  when they don’t play on it, and they’ll have to play fast tonight as they’ll face an offense that should give their defense fits all game, especially after the way they just played against divisional opponent the Baltimore Ravens. Both teams have been forcing turnovers, which are easy cheap points. Like the total to creep over the 43.5 point threshold tonight.
