Game Spotlight

After two straight losses, including a HORRIBLE home loss last week to Mississippi State, 43-34... it was a game they led 28-3 at one point during the first half, the Auburn Tigers heads back on the road to take on South Carolina.  The South Carolina Gamecocks attempted to put wins together last week as they visited Missouri, but their comeback fell short as they were brow beat early in a 31-28 loss.

Gamecocks struggle to stop the run... last week they gave up more than 250 yards on the ground, and essentially that is what sunk their battleship.  Offensively, there have been signs of life from time to time, but often much of their output has been when the outcomes have long been decided.  

Final Say

Expect Auburn to pound the rock here. Nix is on the shelf for this game and for me, it could well be a big blessing in disguise. Gamecock backers are likely still viewing that Florida win as a feather in the cap, and while any SEC win is a good one... Florida was and still is in freefall with a defense giving up points as freely as a steel ball bearing rolls across a glass tabletop (Samford scored 52 points on Florida last week).     

Last South Carolina home game was a "shocking" win, but see this one as a game where they are bullied on both sides of the ball, and ultimately their defense will crack.  Auburn doesn't fold after losing a tough game and their QB last week... big running numbers from multiple backs set their defense up to be in full attack mode. Auburn 37 South Carolina 21.
